Description
Tangelo, (aka Tangelo Kush) is is the sour citrus offspring of the classic Chemdawg X Bermese Kush strains. Tangelo is a sativa dominant hybrid (80% sativa/20% indica) that takes on a super citrusy flavor that your taste buds will fall in love with while receiving a copious amount of bright, uplifted energy. The flavor of Tangelo is like a fresh cup of orange juice first thing in the morning — sweet and tangy with a sharp citrus taste that slaps your face….but in a good way! The smell is very sweet and citrusy although it does carry a slight earthy overtone that can become a tad sour as the flower is burned. It is quite unique! If we had to compare it to something, it would be the equivalent of crossing a tangerine with a pomelo or grapefruit. This strain was named after this hypothetical fruit due to its similar aromatic profile that is sour mixed with sweetness. Tangelo is a parental genetic to several new strains that High Times Magazine has forecasted will make a huge splash in 2020 for the legal and medical cannabis markets.
In our opinion, Tangelo is the perfect wake and bake for those days where you need a little boost to get going (so, basically every day). As the cerebral effects build, a mild body high will begin to set in, but it won’t weigh you down so much that all you want to do is stay glued to the couch. Thanks to these effects and its high 21% average THC level, Tangelo is said to be perfect for treating conditions such as anxiety, bipolar disorder, chronic pain, and depression.
Tangelo is especially useful for consumers who seek to eliminate stress and fatigue while remaining focused on the task at hand — whatever it may be. You can’t beat focused and relaxed at the same time, which is why many patients are repeatedly reaching for Tangelo after they try it. It is quickly becoming a favorite! If you are looking for a euphoric, giggly body high this is the strain that will get you there.

Grower’s Recommendation: Tangelo is a vigorous strain that yields well and stays pretty stocky and short for a sativa dominant strain. The thing we love about this strain is the side-branching. Each main branch produces a lot of side branches — more so than many other strains that we cultivate. From a nursery perspective, this strain is a great money maker because we get so many cuttings from the mother(s). She does well when topped, but I’ve noticed that she does best with a little defoliation. If you defoliate the larger fan leaves on the top 6″ – 12″ of the plant, the side branches will shoot right up to the top to form a nice, even canopy and you won’t put as much stress on her as you would compared to topping her. In other words, she doesn’t seem to slow down as much with a little light defoliation compared to topping.
Propagation: This strain is easy to clone. She clones pretty quickly…usually in under 10 days.
